YOU ARE INVITED TO A VALENTINES DAY MURDER MYSTERY

Kathi Daley Books is joining 12 Cozy Mystery Facebook pages to bring you a Valentines themed murder mystery scavenger hunt. The event will run between February 8 – 14. The clues will be provided, two each day, between February 8 – 13. The winners will be announced on February 14. There will be one grand prize winner who will receive a $50 Amazon gift card and 5 second prize winners who will receive their choice of Kathi Daley ebook.

If you plan to participate here are some tips to help you find the correct answer.

1. TAKE NOTES – I cannot stress this strongly enough. This mystery is medium hard. It is not the most difficult I have hosted since you only need to find two things – the name of the killer and the victim – but there is still no way you will solve this if you don’t write things down. Each clue will only be available for about 24 hours. The hosting Facebook page will schedule the clue to post at 12 am on the day they host and they will remove the clue the next morning whenever they happen to log onto their page. There will be clues provided early on that won’t help you eliminate a suspect until you receive additional information later, so like I said, TAKE NOTES.
2. Eliminate names as you go. What I do when I create the mystery and then check it for accuracy is to list all the names, plus in this case dances, twice. At the top of column 1 I write KILLER and the top of column 2 I write VICTIM. Whenever I get a clue I cross off the name, and in this case dance, under the appropriate column. There will be clues that tell you that someone isn’t the killer but they may still be the victim, or vise versa.
3. Be sure to log on and check the clues EVERY day. You will not be able to figure it out without all the clues. If you know you are going to miss a day prearrange for a friend to share the clue with you.
4. If you collect all the clues and make the appropriate deductions you will have the name of the killer and victim at the end. If you messed up or missed a day go ahead and guess. The winners will be selected from those with correct answers but it costs you nothing to play so a guess is better than nothing.
